Year One have been on their Big Writing Adventures and have been helping Emily by being Big Writing Agents! We have had messages from Fizz and Emily and have been up for the challenge of helping Emily to find out all about nocturnal animals that visit her garden at night. We have been writing captions for nocturnal animals, helping to sort day and night animals by drawing their own animals and posting them in the correct box. We have been practising our skills in writing sentences, finding and using adjectives and completed lots of verbal activities adding in conjunctions too. It has been great fun! Alongside all of this we have also looked at clues on our 'interest table' to identify which nocturnal animal left each clue behind and have used Ipads to research different nocturnal animals on the internet creating our own mind maps. Finally, we have worked in groups to produce a group report on our chosen animal. Check out our blog next week and see some of the reports that we will post from our BIG WRITING DAY! Goodbye for now! Year One.

After our whole school 2 minute silence in the hall to show our respect for all the people who had died in the war we completed a carousel of activities.
We had fun making 'Fields of Poppies' with our fingers and paint, we created poppy collages and made our own poppies to wear. We also watched clips about Remembrance Day and went back in time with two children to find out what is was like being a soldier in World War I. |
